Introduction

Jesus said I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never live in darkness. They will have the light that gives life [1].

People who walk in darkness don’t know where they are going.

What about you?

  • Are you following Jesus?
  • Do you worry about the future?
  • Do you know what happens when you die?

Following Jesus

If we follow Jesus, we will find God and find answers. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me [2].

However, we need to let Him clean us from our sins. If we live in the light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood sacrifice of Jesus, God’s Son, washes away every sin and makes us clean [3].

We also need to learn from God what is right and wrong and do those things which please Him.

It is not too hard to follow Jesus. Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest. Accept my teaching. Learn from me. I am gentle and humble in spirit. And you will be able to get some rest. Yes the teaching that I ask you to accept is easy. The load I give you to carry is light’ [4].

As we follow Him, He will lead us in the right way.

Do you walk in the light or darkness?

Our response

Not everyone will follow Jesus. Yes many people are invited. But only a few are chosen [5].

But you can – even if most people don’t. If you are afraid to follow Him, why not ask God to help you? Jesus is alive and will hear you. And He is good. God is light, and in him there is no darkness [6].

The world can be a fearful place to live in – but with Jesus in our hearts we have peace. I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid [7].

PEOPLE WHO WALK IN DARKNESS DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY ARE GOING
