Introduction
Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved [1]. Hopefully you will have already heard the good news – that God can forgive all the things we have done wrong because Jesus died to take our punishment.
But did you know we can be healed as well? ...forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases [2]. While Jesus was on the earth, He told the good news of the kingdom and healed all the people’s diseases and sicknesses. The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever [3].
He healed then, so He heals today!
How does God heal today?
Through prayer – but not just any prayer. Many people make many prayers and never get healed.
- Your prayer has to be to the true, living God through Jesus Christ His Son
- You need to respect God. He is our Creator and is holy
- You need to believe God will heal you
- You need to be persistent and resist any doubts and fears
People who believe God heals today can help you pray.
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven [4].
Sin and sickness can be related, so you may need to confess your sins to God and receive forgiveness in order to be healed.
How can I know God will heal me?
God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? [5].
You cannot earn your healing. You just need to know how good God is and how much He loves you. Once you see God promises to heal you of your sickness, then you won’t need any other assurance.
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him [6].
You may believe God loves you, He can heal any disease, and He heals today. But do you believe He wants to heal you and will heal you of your sickness? If you don’t believe, then there is a gap in your faith which will hinder you from being healed. But you can change this.
The devil wants you sick, God wants you well!
How do I get enough faith?
Some people believe immediately. They just need to be told. Others take some time, especially if they have wrong ideas about God which need correcting.
Your faith increases as you read and believe the Bible. Going to a church which faithfully teaches the Bible really helps. You need to see God is speaking to you through the Bible and He means what He says.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. [7].
Anyone can believe!
